The Covid-19 cases in India increased to 17,656 today as over 1,540 new cases of Coronavirus infection is reported from various parts of country in past 24 hours. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare reported 1,540 new cases of Coronavirus raising the total count to 17,656.
According to Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the current doubling rate of Covid-19 infection is 7.5 days, which was 3.4 days before the lockdown.
The total deaths due to Covid-19 infection increase to 559, while 2,841 patients have been recovered so far. There are over 77 foreign nationals who have been affected by the deadly Covid-19 virus.
In India there are over 2,841 patients who have been discharged or cured from the deadly Covid-19 infection. As per the health ministry data 2,546 people have recovered from the infection, the recovery rate gone up to 14.75% in India.
Lav Aggrawal from Health Ministry said "The duration of doubling rate for coronavirus which was 3.4 days before lockdown is now 7.5 days.”
Aggrawal also added that the the no of districts where no new cases have been reported increased to 59 in last 14 days.
According to ICMR, 80% of Covid-19 infection in India are asymptomatic or show mild symptoms. There are reports of many asymptomatic cases from South Korea and China also.
As of now Maharashtra is the worst affected state with over 4,203 confirmed cases and 223 deaths. Mumbai alone reported more than 2,724 positive Covid-19 cases in the state.
Delhi is the second most affected city in the country with 2,003 cases and 45 deaths.

2,435,876 confirmed cases and 167,369 deaths. The US remains the worst hit country in the world with 761,991 confirmed cases and 40,724 deaths.

Still there are no vaccines or medicine against Covid-19 virus. Researchers are working round the clock to develop medicine or vaccine for Covid-19 virus. But as per the researchers it will take over 1 year for the availability of vaccine for Covid-19.
