Total confirmed cases of Covid-19 increased to 14,792 in India, while 480 deaths have been reported till now. India reported over 900 new cases of Covid-19 infection in past 24 hours. Despite all round efforts and treatment over 480 people died so far in the country due to Coronavirus infection.
There are over 11,906 active cases across the country and more 1,991 people recovered from the deadly disease, ministry of health and welfare said in their statement.
While addressing media conference Joint secretary in the Health Ministry Lav Agarwal said “An encouraging trend has been noted in 47 districts across 23 States with no positive cases being reported over the past 28 days. This includes 22 new districts in 12 States that have not reported any fresh case during the past 14 days.”
The Union Health Ministry said on Saturday about 30% of Covid-19 cases are linked to the Tablighi Jamaat religious congregation which was held in Delhis Nizamuddin area last month.
In India Maharashtra is most affected state with more than 3,000 cases of Covid-19 infection and 201 deaths. Maharashtra reported highest deaths in the country. Mumbai is most affected city in the state with over 1,000 Covid-19 infections.
Delhi is also another most affected city with 1,707 people infected with Covid-19 infection, while 42 people died due to the Coronavirus infection. Delhi reported thirty-one new cases of Covid-19 infection on Saturday, where all the cases are from an extended family that includes children. All the 31 new cases are reported from north Delhi Jahangirpuri area.
In Delhi 8 new hotspots identified totaling the total containment zones to 76 in the city. The new 8 hotspot added to the list are whole Gali H No. 48 to Chaupal) A Block, Khazirabad in New Friends Colony, Israel Camp in Rang Puri Pahari & its adjoining area of buffer zone, Budh Nagar in Inderpuri & its adjoining areas of buffer zone, Oberoi Apartments, in & around area G-1 2nd Floor Mansarovar Garden.
Uttar Pradesh reported 125 new cases of Covid-19 infection today raising the total Covid-19 cases to 974 in the state. Out 125 new cases 86 cases are linked to the Tablighi Jamaat.
According to the Gujarat Health Department, 5 more deaths are reported in the state raising the total deaths to 53. There are over 1376 confirmed cases of Covid-19 infection in the state while 93 people cured.

The global cases of Covid-19 infection reaches 2,284,018 while 156,901 deaths reported worldwide. The United States tops in the Covid-19 cases with 711,197 confirmed cases and 37,309 deaths.
