In India over 1,486 new coronavirus cases are reported in past 24 hours raising the total cases to 20,471 so far. In India in 8 days more than 10,000 new cases are reported, in other words cases are doubles from 10,000 marks to 20,000 in just 8 days. The total the number of deaths rose to 652 so far in India.

Till now the Covid-19 disease has spread to 430 districts from 211 on April 2. The major cities of India reported about 45 percent of total cases in the country.

Despite huge effort by the Government, Police, authorities and health professional the cases of Covid-19 is increasing fast in the country. Country is under complete lockdown till May 3, some places will be under lockdown till 7 May.

The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) said that 4,49,810 tests for COVID-19 have been conducted so far in India, while 35,852 tests are done on Monday.

Maharashtra is most affected state followed by Delhi and other states including Gujarat, Rajasthan and Tamil Nadu where 60 percent of all cases are reported.

According to the Government data the recovery rate stood at 19.36 per cent, with 618 people recovered in a day.

Mumbai is most affected city in the country with over 3,000 total confirmed cases of Covid-19 infection. Followed by Delhi with 2,081 confirmed cases of Covid-19 infection so far. In Ahmedabad there are 1,298 cases of Covid-19. The total cases of Covid-19 in Indore are 915, in Pune are 660 and in Jaipur are 537.

Globally more than 177,000 people died from the Covid-19 infection, while 2.5 million people are infected with the Covid-19 virus.

In US topped in the number of deaths due to Covid-19, where 45,000 people died so far and more than 820,000 people are infected with this disease.
