In India, KTM has released the much-anticipated new-generation 2022 KTM RC 125 and the new RC 200. The second-generation KTM RC bikes have a completely new design, updated mechanicals, and a slew of additional features. What's more noteworthy is that the new RC 200 is priced the same as the previous model, but the RC 125 has a Rs 2,000 premium over the previous model. The new-generation 2022 KTM RC 125 is priced at Rs 1.82 lakh ex-showroom Delhi, while the RC 200 is priced at Rs 2.08 lakh. Bookings for these motorcycles are currently available, and they will begin arriving at KTM dealerships soon.

When it comes to modifications, the first and most significant is the design of these motorcycles. The headlight of the second-generation RC series has been redesigned, as well as the windscreen and an integrated front position lighting with front blinkers. While the RC 125 has a halogen headlight, the RC 200 for the Indian market has an all-LED unit, unlike the international version, which has a halogen bulb. New fairings, adjustable handlebars, a big 13.7-litre petrol tank, split pillion grip rails, and a stylish rear-end design with an LED taillamp are also included on these motorcycles.

The KTM RC 125 and RC 200 are built around a revolutionary split-steel trellis frame that is stiffer and lighter than the previous models. These bikes have USD forks in the front and a mono-shock absorber in the back for suspension. A new lighter 320 mm front disc brake and a 230 mm rear disc brake with KTM's Supermoto ABS handle the braking tasks. They also feature lighter, stronger wheels, as well as a new LCD instrument cluster that displays a wealth of data. The engine on these motorcycles is the same as previously, but with a few upgrades.

The new KTM RC 125 is powered by a 124.7cc liquid-cooled, fuel-injected single-cylinder engine that produces 14.5 PS at 9250 RPM and 12 Nm at 8000 RPM. The RC 200 is powered by a single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected engine with a displacement of 199.5cc. At 10000 RPM, this motor produces 25 PS of maximum power and 19.5 Nm of peak torque at 8000 RPM. Both bikes' engines are paired to a 6-speed manual transmission. The second-generation KTM RC 125 and RC 200 have a bigger airbox and a redesigned curved radiator to improve engine cooling.

“The KTM RCs are race-bred machines with its technology & form inspired from the MotoGP racer– KTM RC 16. The fully-faired motorcycles have a strong and growing contribution to the KTM portfolio. Also, the enthusiasts of SuperSport motorcycles in India prefer aggressive sharp looks coupled with exciting features. With a slew of upgrades, the new generation of the KTM RC 200 looks set to extend its lead in the premium performance motorcycle segment, bringing real racetrack-inspired DNA to the streets,” said Sumeet Narang – President, Pro-Biking Business unit at Bajaj Auto Ltd.

Additionally, he also said, “While the KTM RC range Gen-2 will be available in global markets by 2022, the KTM RC 200 Gen-2 will be available for the Indian motorcycle enthusiasts from October 2021. The KTM RC 125 Gen-2 will be available from November 2021. We are celebrating 10 years of KTM’s presence in the Indian market this year, and we are excited to announce the all-new KTM RC 200 and KTM RC 125 at a special introductory price of Rs. 2.09 lacs (Ex-SR, Delhi) and Rs. 1.82 Lacs (Ex-SR, Delhi) respectively to mark the occasion.”
