Noida : The Subroto Cup International Football Tournament, Asia’s biggest and most prestigious youth  tournament, in association with Star Sports, launched its first football clinic today at J P International School, Greater Noida under #KheloFootball, an initiative of Ministry of Sports & Youth Affairs to search for the top footballing talent in the under 17 category amongst both boys and girls The clinic that started at 09:00 hrs with a motivating presentation about how sports is evolving and creating careers; how sports supports education rather than being a detractor.

Then the students were moved to the field for advanced drills and talent hunt under professional guidance and experienced eyes of Delhi Dynamos & Subroto Cup coaches. Students participated in full fervour even in pouring rain whilst they were being judged for the skill, mental agility, physical ability, speed, accuracy and quickness – all of which form the pillars of a formidable player’s persona.

Only two students from amongst the lot were shortlisted - Akshat from Pragyan School, Noida and Sanchit Saxena from JBM School, Greater Noida who will now be taken into further sessions on path to creating a good WILD CARD entry team which will be awarded a WILD CARD entry into the Subroto Cup Tournament to be held this year from 14th September – 25th October 2016 at Ambedkar Stadium, New Delhi. Participation Certificates were given to all participants and Footballs were distributed amongst players who shone above the rest.

This programme will take place in 21 more locations at different Schools in the Delhi NCR, Haryana, UP, Rajasthan region enabling many more students with this fabulous opportunity of showcasing their football talent.

As a way of promoting the sport and motivating the students, football merchandise will be distributed to a large number of participants. The best performing players at the clinics and matches will be selected by the scouts and officials, who will then go on to form a boys and girls teams under the Delhi Dynamos & Subroto Cup coaches.

The 2nd Football clinic will be held at G.D. Goenka World School, Sohna Gurgaon tomorrow at 8.30 am.
