iPhone 15 overheating issue fixed - Apple releases iOS 17.0.3 with fix for overheating

Apple quickly released the fix for iPhone 15 overheating issue by releasing iOS 17.0.3. All the eligible iOS devices should see the notification for updating their devices. This update will fix the overheating problem in iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. Earlier users of iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone Pro Max reported overheating issues.

Apple also identified two vulnerabilities which are now fixed for both iOS and iPadOS in this release of iOS 17.0.3. Now users should update their eligible iOS devices to take advantage of these bug fixes.

As reported earlier Apple previously fixed bugs that were causing data transfer issues. This patch was released just after the launch of iPhone 15 series. Apple is rolling out iOS 17.0.3 for the eligible devices, users of these devices are advised to update their devices with the latest iOS 17.0.3 release.

Apple is currently working on iOS 17.1, which is in the beta testing phase. We are expecting more features and updates in iOS 17.1. Next version of iOS is going to be iOS 17.1, which is expected to be released late in Oct 2023.

Earlier Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo speculated that the use of titanium frame might prohibit heat disbursal difficulty resulting in overheating in the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max models. Overheating is a big issue being faced by the users of iPhone 15 devices. Apple confirmed to fix the overheating issue by software update.
According to Apple, the heating issue is also due to third-party apps. Applications such as Instagram, Uber, and Asphalt 9 are believed to be causing heating issues. Apple attributed various factors including specific application issues to Instagram and Uber, background processing after data transfer, and unspecified bugs for the overheating issue.

Apple found two bugs and fixed them in the iOS 17.0.3 update. Apple also fixed bugs for iOS and iPadOS. So, users of iOS and iPadOS devices should update their devices to the latest version of iOS 17.0.3.

The update is about 400MB and which can be downloaded from the Apple website. During the automated update process data will be downloaded from Apple for the device upgrade. You should connect your device to the Wifi and then update. Also make sure that your device is charged so that the update completes without any power issue.
