In an urgent move Government of India is considering to acquire 33 fighter air crafts from Russia which includes 21 Mig-29s and 12 Sukhoi Su-30 MKI fighter aircrafts.

During the recent times, India and China have been involved in a deadlock in the Galwan Valley of Ladakh. Then on 15th June, a brutally violent clash took place between Indian Army and People's Liberation Army’s (PLA) soldiers leading to 20 Indian soldiers being martyred. But as of now, China has not acknowledged the news of their army men dying in the battle. But as per surveillance provided by satellites, it is claimed that Chinese troops outnumbered Indian Army. It is also rumored that around 40 Chinese troops died in the battle.

The reason for clashed between the two nations is said to take place after Chinese army entered the territory that belongs to India and claimed that it was theirs. This includes the infrastructure that India made close to Actual Line of Control.

In the middle of this battle, the government is examining the motion to purchase Russian made 21 Mig 29 and 12 Sukhoi Su-30 MKI fighter aircraft from Russia.

According to sources, it is being claimed that this project of purchasing fighter jets will cost around Rs 5,000 crore.

The Indian Airforce proposed this scheme to the Ministry of Defence and a decision will be made by next week regarding its purchase.

It is also claimed that Indian Air Force have asked the Government to buy the complete set which includes every part, tool and apparatus that is a part of fighter jets so that business can be concluded quickly between both the Governments of India and Russia.

This is the second time we are seeing such a deal being signed as back in September 2016, a government to government deal between India and France took place for India to buy 36 Rafale jets. This acquisition cost the government around Rs 58,000 crore.
