Lok Sabha Election 2019 Phase 3: India is voting for Lok Sabha elections today in 116 constituencies

Today, in the third phase of Lok Sabha elections voting is being conducted in 116 constituencies across 14 states and Union Territories. Elections are being conducted in Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Jammu and Kashmir, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal.

This is the largest phase of elections and 392 crorepatis candidates are in contesting for elections. Among all the crorepatis Ku. Devendra Singh Yadav from Samajwadi Party is the richest candidate with a declared assets of Rs. 204 crore.

In the third phase of Lok Sabha elections 116 constituencies will go for elections today on Tuesday, 24 April. Elections are begin conducted in the country across 14 states and Union Territories today. People are all set to cast their vote in Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Jammu and Kashmir, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal.

As per the information released by Election Commission of India, the time for polling will be mostly between 7 am to 6 pm. According to EC voting will end little early in Assam, Chhattisgarh, Jammu and Kashmir and Odisha polling booths. The counting for the votes will start on 23 May and results might be delayed due to counting for VVPAT slips.

In the third phase of elections voting is being conducted on all the Lok Sabha seats in Modi’s home state, Gujarat.

There is two-way battle between the BJP and Congress in Modi's State, Gurajrat. BJP is condfident to repeat 2014 results in Lok Sabha 2019 elections. Congress looks to improve its position in Gujarat.

According to the Election Commission of India website in the following Lok Sabha seats voting is being conducted.

ASSAM (4): The main political parties in Assam are BJP, Congress, Asom Gana Parishad (AGP). Voting is being conducted in:

  • Kokrajhar
  • Barpeta
  • Gauhati

BIHAR (5): Main political parties contesting in Bihar are Congress, BJP, RJD, Lok Janshakti Party, Janata Dal, Janata Dal (United). Voting is being conducted in:

  • Jhanjharpur
  • Supaul
  • Araria
  • Madhepura
  • Khagaria

 

CHHATTISGARH (7): The main political parties contesting in Chhattisgarh are  BJP, Congress, Janata Congress Chhattisgarh and BSP. Voting is being done in:

  • Surguja
  • Raigarh
  • Janjgir-Champa
  • Korba
  • Bilaspur
  • Durg
  • Raipur

DADRA AND NAGAR HAVELI (1): The main political parties contesting in Dadra and Nagar Haveli are Indian national Congress (INC) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Voting is being done in Dadra & Nagar Haveli.

DAMAN AND DIU (1): The main political parties in Daman and Diu are Congress, BJP, BSP, NCP. Voting is being done in Daman & Diu

GOA (2): Political parties contesting in Goa are UGDP, NCP, MGP, Congress and BJP. Voting is being done in:

  • North Goa
  • South Goa 

GUJARAT (26): The major political parties contesting in Gujarat are Congress and BJP. Voting is being underway in:

Today is the third phase of Lok Sabha elections, the counting of votes will begin on 23 May and results will be declared after verification of 50% of VVPAT slips. This time there may be delay of 5 days in election results due to verification of VVPAT slips.
