Election campaigns for the first phase of voting ended today on Tuesday, April 9 at 5PM. Voting for first phase to he held on April 11 at a total of 91 constituencies spread across 20 States and Union Territories. This phase is marked with big rallies by top national leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Congress chief Rahul Gandhi.
In the first phase of voting Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Uttarakhand, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, Lakshadweep, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Telangana voting will be done in all the constituencies on 11 April. This time EVM with VVPAT machines will be used for voting in all the booths.
The voting for Lok Sabha Elections 2019 elections is being done in 7 Phases starting from April 11 and final voting will be on May 19. Counting will start on May 23, and results will declared after verification of vote with the VVPAT slips. This time there will be 5 days delay due to verification of results with VVPAT slips.
Tuesday was the last date for filling of nominations for the fourth phase of Lok Sabha 2019 elections in which voting will be conducted in 71 constituencies spread across 9 states. For the fourth phase voting will be done on April 10.

Today election campaigns for the first phase of voting ended at 5PM and voting will be done on April 11 on the polling booths in the States/UTs. UP is the largest state electorally and in this state voting will be conducted in all the phases of elections. In UP more than 55 lakh new electors added out of which 16.75 lakh in the age group of 18-19 years. So, large number of first time voters will cast their votes for Lok Sabha.
