Google Removes 16 applications infected with Agent Smith malware from Android Play store

Search Engine Giant Google removes 16 app infected with the Agent Smith malware from its Android Play store following recent discovery of these infections by security agency. As reported by Check Point researchers; The Agent Smith malware has infected over 1.5 crore Android phones. According to the report this malware infected mostly Asian countries but there are reports of its infection Android phones in US and UK.

This malware manage to infect 16 apps in Android Play store and these apps have been removed from the Android Play store. Google advised the Android users to remove these applications from your Android mobile phones if you have installed these previously.

The Android users need to check their mobile phone and manually uninstall from their mobile phones if present. So, to be safe side check your mobile Android mobile phones and uninstall these apps from your mobile phones if these apps are installed on your phone. It is also advised to do a complete factory reset of your phone to get rid of this malware.

  • Girl Cloth Xray Scan Simulator

In past we have seen the outbreak of many malware and virus for Android device. Now large numbers of devices are under the attack of Agents Smith malware worldwide. This malware has infected millions of devices in Asian countries.

This malware was detected by Check Point research and after working with the Google to find out infected applications; Google have removed 16 apps from its Play Store.

Google has already removed these apps from Play store and no further versions of the applications will be available on the store. Android users must immediately uninstall these apps from their Android mobile phone if they have installed these apps.

The Agent Smith malware comes with the ability to stick over applications also and in those cases it will be very difficult to detect. In such cases it is advisable to do a factory reset of your mobile phone.

In India it has infected over 1.5 core Android phones through WhatsApp and Flipkart applications. If your phone is displaying obscene ads frequently then it is high chance that your phone is infected with Agent Smith malware and you should do a Factory Reset on your device.
