GALAX's much-anticipated and highly acclaimed Hall of Fame (HOF) series of GPUs will soon be welcoming a long-awaited new member, as the company will be releasing an all-black version of the look carrying a radically bold appearance. With a history that boasts pushing the limits of both GPU performance and overclocking potential, the HOF series has been the go-to choice of enthusiasts and professionals alike for years. Along with this new all-black colorway, GALAX marries unparalleled performance with understated, smooth design—a sign of things to come for its legendary line.
GALAX took the route to X (formerly Twitter) to announce these cards. The English translation of the company's post on X reads “Only black? No, we also have white In the case of black, it will be combined with the white PCB to create a Panda HOF The price will not exceed the 1.06 million yen barrier, so don't worry By the way, we are planning to release both the RTX5080 and RTX5070Ti in both colors But this time, we recommend the "black" one, it's erotic #HOFGaming #Official erotic images #The PCB is yellowed white”.
The "Panda" HOF claims are obviously a joke—GALAX would never ruin the classy, matte black look of their new design with something as rip-off or off-brand as a panda theme.
Traditionally known for their signature white GPUs, GALAX has announced all black GPU variants of its HOF series.
The new design features a matte black PCB, black fan blades, and a dark-anodised heatsink.
However there is no confirmation about the GPU model, but it’s anticipated that top tier cards like GeForce RTX 5090 and possibly 5080 will receive this amazing black treatment.
These cards are expected to maintain the high standards of the HOF series,
which includes
- PCB design accommodates dual 16-pin power connectors
- Robust voltage regulation modules (VRMs) (38-phase VRM design)
- Advanced cooling systems
These exclusive features help cater professional overclockers seeking peak performance.
GALAX also added that the price won't exceed 1 million yen ,though no one expected it to reach such high figures (over $7000 USD).
What is a PCB?
A PCB or Printed Circuit Board is the primary board of electronic hardware like GPUs, onto which all the components are mounted and connected.
In terms of a GPU:
- It has the GPU die, VRMs, memory modules, capacitors, and power connectors.
- It is made up of conductive paths (traces) in many layers that allow components to communicate.
- Quality and PCB layout have direct impacts on thermal performance, power delivery, and overclocking ability.
High-quality custom-designed PCBs with unique materials and optimized designs accommodate extreme power loads and performance for high-end GPUs like the GALAX HOF.
