Chhath Puja 2018: Grand arrangements made at many locations in Delhi

Chhath Puja is just four days away and Delhi is all set with grand preparation in celebration of this festival. As the preparation is shaping up various political leaders from different parties visited Ghats in the city. Manoj Tiwari the BJP president also participated in the grand preparation of Chhath Puja and brought his presence at Ghats in the city today.

Manoj Tiwari said that thousands of BJP workers will help in the preparations for this Chhath Mahaparv and help the devotees coming at the Ghats.

The Delhi development minister Gopal Rai also personally visited to do the inspection at Yamuna Ghat near ITO. The government have announced about arrangements made for Chhath Puja at 1,000 locations in the city. It is claimed that there were only 60 Ghats before the formation of AAP government, whereas now there are 1,000 Ghats are been set up along the banks of river Yamuna for Chhath Puja.

This four-day festival of Chhath Puja falls right after five days of Diwali celebration. It is celebrated according to the sixth day of Hindu month of Kartika usually falls in month of October or November. Although this festival is also celebrated in month of March and April and known as Chaiti Chhath but this festival is more popular during Kartika calendar.

It is widely celebrated in the regions of Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand and Uttaranchal among the Bihari communities. The celebration is totally devoted to Sun God and practised on the banks of River Ganga or various Temples. 

All the devotees worship sun during Puja. This practice is done from time of ancient times with constant faith that through worshiping sun and following the rituals of this practice, Devotees will get their wishes granted. During this ritual ‘Araghya’ is offered to sun with full devotion. The preparations for Chhath Puja festival is all set to greet and honour devotes faith and rituals.
