Ranveer and Deepika Tie the Knot in Italy

The most watched couple of Bollywood have just taken their relationship to the next level in a family-and-close-friends-only ceremony held in Lake Como, Italy. While we are yet to receive any pictures, it is believed that the marriage was held in traditional Konkani fashion early morning around 7. This will be followed by another ceremony in North Indian style tomorrow.

Close associates confirmed that two receptions will be hosted for the newlyweds- one in Bangalore on November 21 and another mega event in Mumbai on November 28.

And there is a reason we aren’t seeing any snaps of the event yet: the guests were requested not to share any images on social media before receiving the go-ahead from Ranveer/Deepika. All we have now are congratulatory messages from celebrities, starting with Karan Johar followed by Nimrat Kaur.

True to their megastar status, it seems Ranveer and Deepika have many surprises for their fans. The wedding seems planned like a treasure hunt, with a series of events leading up to the muhurat itself. There was a Nandi Puja on November 2 at Deepika’s home in Bangalore, and then a haldi ceremony for Ranveer in Mumbai a few days later. As if that wasn’t enough, Mehandi and Sangeet were organized yesterday at the wedding venue.

There’s more: Ranveer, known for his open display of emotions, went down on his knees to propose to Deepika at the engagement do. Later at a family dinner, he made an emotional speech addressing Deepika. Small wonder the beautiful bride-to-be could not hold back her tears!  Ranveer also made a dramatic entry at the sangeet while the song Tu Ne Maari Entriyan from his film Gunday was playing.

It is also learned that the couple requested guests to donate to The Live Love Laugh Foundation, Deepika’s project, rather than bring them presents.
