Chris Gayle's bat is shouting in the Afghanistan Premier League (APL) these days. Not being available to the team- WI for almost 10 days, Chris Gayle innings gave a strong victory in yesterday at the APL. By playing a blistering inning of 73 runs in 22 balls in his native blasting style, WI Batsman Chris Gayle once again showed that age is just a number. Gayle is playing for Balkha Legends in Afghanistan's Premier League 2018. While only a couple of days later, when the T20 series squad was going to be announced against India, Chris Gayle had told the West Indies selectors that he should not be picked in the team.

On Thursday, playing on behalf of Balkha Legends against Kandahar Knights, Gayle once again showed his fantastic batting performance. Earlier, batting first, Kandahar Nights scored 141 runs in 20 overs, in response to Chris Gayle's stormy innings, the match was seemed one-sided. The West Indian opener hit eight sixes in making 73 from 22 deliveries, as Balkh made easy work of chasing 142 to win at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium.

Brendon McCullum was top scorer with 50 runs from Kandahar Nights. Wicket-Keeper batsman Wessels played a quicker and useful inning of 39 runs. In response to the Knights' 141, Gayle gave a strong start to the Balak Legends and scored 73 runs in 22 balls before being dismissed for 85 runs in his 6 overs. Gayle hit 5 fours and 8 sixes in his innings. Gayle was given the man of the match for his smoky performance.

Why Chris Gayle call off his name from WI Squad?

From October 21, India and the West Indies will have to play five-match ODI series and then from November 4 to 11 November, there will be three T20 matches will be played between these two teams. Gayle is currently playing in Afghanistan Premier League. After this, he will also be available for the T-10 league. So he did not tell himself to be available for selection.
